Dan is Chairman and CEO of Jet Closing a new venture started in April of 2016 in partnership with Pioneer Square Labs in Seattle.  JetClosing is a Title and Escrow company leveraging mobile and cloud computing to streamline and simplify the real estate transaction process, building a fully digital experience for all involved.  The Company is in its rapid growth phase and currently does business in three states.

He is also the managing partner of Smithtownbay Llc, providing early stage and startup financing for companies in the Pacific NW.   Dan has done over fifty early stage seed investments primarily in digital gaming, mobile infrastructure and consumer facing apps.

Most recently Dan served as President of Capital One ShareBuilder and President and Chief Investment Officer of ShareBuilder Advisors LLC.  Over the past 15 years Dan was instrumental in building ShareBuilder into the leading investment companies in the U.S.  ShareBuilder was acquired by ING DIRECT in 2007 and by Capital One Financial in 2012.   ShareBuilder grew from rapidly, serving over 1.5 million Americans in all fifty States with $25 billion in customer assets.  Dan was instrumental building ShareBuilder and launching its small business 401k product serving over 5,000 small businesses and $1.0 billion in assets.

Prior to ShareBuilder Dan worked for GE Capital Services as Vice President, Business Development.  He specialized in corporate finance, portfolio risk management, strategic investing and merger & acquisitions. During his tenure, he completed many transactions in both debt and equity for firms needing growth capital and lead deal teams in completing acquisitions on behalf of GE most in consumer financial services.    Prior to GE Capital, Dan held several positions in the investment and financial service industry Washington Square Capital, a subsidiary of ING, Piper Jaffray & Hopwood a Broker Dealer in Minneapolis and the Leuthold Group, a registered investment advisor.

Dan is active in his community serving on several nonprofit boards.  Prior community work includes, Downtown Seattle Association, Commute Seattle and Crystal Mountain Alpine Club and Northwest Harvest.
